When should you call 911 ?
To save a life
To stop a crime
To report a fire
The Village of Bolingbrook has Enhanced 911 emergency service. This means whether you need the police, fire department or emergency medical services, 911 is the number to call. The person who takes your call will have your telephone number and address displayed on their monitor, enabling a prompt and accurate response.
Call 911 anytime you have an emergency. An emergency is a situation that threatens human life or property and demands immediate attention. Make sure that everybody in your family knows this. Don't depend on a memory button on your phone to dial 911, the number in memory can be accidentally erased.
When you call 911 you should stay calm, tell the 911 call taker where the emergency is located and what type of emergency service is needed (police, fire, or emergency medical services).
Remember, 911 is for emergencies ONLY!
