Hours of Curfew
Minors 15 years of age or younger must be in between the hours of 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. every night of the week.
Minors age 16 and 17 must be in between the hours of 11 p.m. and 6 a.m. on weeknights, and between midnight and 6 a.m. on Friday and Saturday.

Section 19-605 HOURS OF CURFEW (Ordinance No. 96-107, 08.27.96)
(A). It shall be unlawful for any person to loiter or remain in or about the public streets, highways, alleys, parks, parking lots, playgrounds, public places, public buildings, places of public entertainment and amusement, business establishments, vacant lots, or other places in the Village of Bolingbrook:
1. For any person between the ages of sixteen (16) years and eighteen (18) years, between the hours of 11:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. on Sunday through Thursday nights and between the hours of 12:00 midnight and 6:00 a.m. on Friday and Saturday nights, and
2. For any person aged fifteen (15) years and younger, between the hours of 10:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. on any day,unless accompanied by and in the custody and control of his/her legal parent or legal guardian, or the spouse of such parent or guardian, or a relative over the age of twenty-one (21), or unless in some occupation or business in which such person may lawfully engage under the statutes of this state. (B) Detaining Child; Notice to Parent or Guardian. Every member of the police force while on duty is authorized to detain any child violating the provisions of this Section, but such officer shall immediately upon taking custody of the child communicate with the parent or guardian. Upon the parent or guardian signing a statement acknowledging that such child is in violation of this section and that such parent or guardian has notice of such violation, the child will be released into the custody of the parent or guardian. For purposes of notice, notice to one spouse is notice to both spouses.
If it appears that any child taken in custody for a violation of this Section is growing up in mendicancy or has two or more prior violations of this Section, or has no home, or the parent or guardian cannot be reached, proper proceedings shall be taken to have such child placed in the care of a state institution as provided by statute. The police department may establish centers other than the police station for the purpose of detaining any child found in violation of this Section and shall provide notice to the parent or guardian of said child of the child's location.
(C) Permitting a Child to Violate Curfew. No parent, guardian or other person having the legal care, custody or control of any person under the age of eighteen (l8) years shall suffer, allow or permit such minor to loiter or remain on or about the public streets, highways, alleys, parks, parking lots, playgrounds, public places, public buildings, places of public amusement or entertainment, business establishments, vacant lots, or other places in the Village in violation of this Section.
(D) Penalty. The penalty for each violation of this Section l9-605 shall be Fifty Dollars ($50.00). In addition, in the event that a child violates this Section more than once, the parents shall be responsible for the payment of Thirty-Five Dollars ($35.00) per hour or portion thereof for temporary detention of the child at the Police Department.
Section l9-606. SCHOOL CURFEW.
(A) Hours of Curfew. It shall be unlawful for any person under the age of eighteen (l8) who is enrolled in any public, private or parochial school to be present in any public place, building, street or assembly in the Village other than school during any hours when school is in session during the regular school term, unless he or she is:
(1) Traveling to or from school by the most direct route; or
(2) Accompanied by a parent, legal guardian or school official; or
(3) Engaged in school related activities with written approval of school authorities;
(4) Engaged in personal business, including but not limited to employment, medical care or religious activities, with prior notice from a parent or legal guardian to school authorities.
(B) Detaining Child; Notice to Parent or Guardian. Every member of the police force while on duty is authorized to detain any child whom the officer reasonably suspects to be violating the provisions of this Section for not to exceed fifteen (l5) minutes for the purpose of verifying the child's identity, age, school enrollment, and authority to be absent from school. The police officer shall immediately inform the person of the reason of the detention and that he/she will be released upon verification of the authorization to be absent from school. The person shall not be removed from the scene of the investigatory detention unless he refuses to provide the officer with the necessary information.
(C) Permitting a Child to Violate School Curfew. No parent, guardian or other person having the legal care, custody or control of any person under the age of eighteen (l8) years shall suffer, allow or permit such minor to loiter or remain on or about the public streets, highways, alleys, parks, parking lots, playgrounds, public places, public buildings, places of public amusement or entertainment, business establishments, vacant lots, or other places in the Village in violation of this Section.
(D) Penalty. The penalty for each violation of this Section 19-606 shall be Fifty Dollars ($50.00). In addition, in the event that a child violates this Section more than once, the parents shall be responsible for the payment of Thirty-Five Dollars ($35.00) per hour or portion thereof for temporary detention of the child at the Police Department. Section l9-607. DETAINING MINOR. Every member of the Bolingbrook Police force while on duty is hereby authorized to detain any such minor willfully violating the provisions of Section l9-605 hereof until the parent or guardian of the child will take him or her into custody, but shall, as practicable, upon detaining the minor communicate with the parent or guardian.
Section l9-608. PUBLIC ENTERTAINMENT. It shall be unlawful for any person who has or exercises control over the use of any place of public entertainment to permit minors upon or in their premises in violation of this article.
