APPROVAL OF APPOINTMENTS – COMMAND STAFF:

The following Police Department personnel were approved for new positions as Command Staff.

  1. Promotion of Police Lieutenant Sean Koren to Commander
  2. Promotion of Police Lieutenant Anthony Columbus to Captain
  3. Lieutenant Kristen Swienton to Commander (Retroactive to Swearing-In of October 13, 2021)

 

Proclamations

Proclamations were presented to representatives of the India and Pakistan communities acknowledging the anniversary of the independence of their countries:

  1. India’s 76th Independence Day
  2. Pakistan’s 75th Independence Day

Approval of Bills

Trustees voted to approve bills in the amount of $1,466,865.04.    

 

Resolutions

Approval of Resolution (22R-056) Authorizing the Purchase of Various Fire Equipment for Two New Fire Engines

Trustees voted to approve this purchase. The Fire Department is expecting delivery of its two new Fire Engines in October/November 2022.  These Engines require equipment, and the Chief has requested newer more efficient equipment.  The loose equipment such as hydrant wrenches, flashlights, cable cutters, bolt cutters, etc. will be purchased from Air One Equipment for a total cost of $41,815.90.  The Extrication equipment will be purchased from Equipment Management Company for a total cost of $74,490.00.  Finally, the hoses, nozzles, and tips will be purchased from Fire Service Inc. for a total cost of $28,924.88.

 

These items were all budgeted for in the 2022-2023 budget year.

 

The Public Safety Committee reviewed and recommended approval.

 

Ordinances

Approval of Ordinance Ordinance (22-047) Amending Chapter 12 “Businesses” of the Bolingbrook Village Code Regarding the Regulation of the General Business Activity License Requirement in the Village of Bolingbrook

Trustees voted to approve the Ordinance which clarifies existing general business activity licensing requirements in the Village.  The Ordinance modifies the definition of “business” and specifies what type of activity requires a license from the Village and who those requirements apply to.
